Clinton Destroying Democratic Party Rather Than Lose?

Today Hillary Clinton said, reported by MSNBC, "I went to Michigan yesterday because I feel so strongly that it is not in the best interests of our party or our chances for victory in November to deny the rights of the people of Florida and Michigan. I do not see how two of our largest and most significant states can be disenfranchised and left out of the process of picking our nominee without raising serious questions about the legitimacy of that nominee," Read the whole story here.
Michigan and Florida had thier votes stripped for moving the dates of thier primaries ahead in violation of party rules. Clinton even said, after New Hampshire's primary that the vote in Michigan wouldn't count. Now that she is far behind She is seriously going to question the legitimacy of the nominee. This only helps McCain and will tear the Democratic party apart. Her arguments are shallow, opportunistic and destructive. The Democratic National Committee warned both Michigan and Florida not to move their primary dates. Now she will challenge the legitimacy of the nominee if Michigan and Florida don't have a re-vote. Obama never opposed it. He raised some concerns over fairness, but said that he would abide by anything that the states and the national party agreed to. This is disgusting. So, is Hillary Clinton Destroying Democratic Party Rather Than Lose? I don't think so - but I can see how the case could be made based on the appearances of the HRC campaign. We need to rise above this.

She has turned me off completely, even more so than before, due to her rhetoric regarding these primaries. She AGREED to the rules. Now, she wants to blame Obama!........"if he would...".etc., I'm just scared that if she gets the nomination, partly due to conservatives in the Republican party using Rev. Wright, that we will get another Republican, John McCain into the White House. I for one just couldn't vote for her.

I agree - I couldn't vote for her.

A McCain - Clinton race would be a choice between the honorable man leading us to ruin verses a devious woman who would takes us on a twisted path that may lead to a better place. I'm not sure I'd want either option.

I wouldn't say McCain comes anywhere close to being an honorable man. He is on the record contradicting himself on his stance on the issues (straight talk?!). And this guy has serious anger issues. He most likely suffers from PTSD. He is emotionally unstable and unfit to lead this country. He should be in therapy.

Gotta love this story...

That may be true, Tim, but I don't want to take this route. It may have merit, but there are far more effective criticisms to use against McCain. Going this route sounds like one is beating up on an old man who is a war hero and who endured years of torture for this country. Instead, use his words against him first, show where he wants to take this country. In that way we can, to paraphrase Plato in the Republic, crown him with a laurel and then send him away.
